Intralox: DESCRIPTION:
Intralox, LLC, is a fast-growing, New Orleans-based supplier of modular plastic conveyor belting and affiliated technologies. The Process Engineering Group seeks a Process Engineer to bring new innovations to our plastic injection molding processes. The successful candidate will be a leader in new process development, problem solving, and mentoring of production personnel. Are you up for the challenge?
RESPONSIBILITIES:
New Capacity and Replacement Tooling
•Develop new injection molding processes using scientific injection molding principles
•Document changes to processes and equipment using change management system
•Release robust, repeatable processes with robust, repeatable molds to Production
•Participate in cross departmental teams to improve safety, quality, efficiency and overall productivity
Production Support
•Conduct Root Cause Analysis of product quality issues and equipment failures
oDevelop robust, repeatable solutions to prevent reoccurrences
•Provide technical training and assistance to Production’s technical staff (processors and operators) focusing on scientific injection molding techniques and troubleshooting skills
Continuous Improvement
•Monitor and validate existing injection molding processes and molds to develop and execute continuous improvement opportunities
•Accountable for the identification of risks, technical options value propositions, and championing of solutions
REQUIREMENTS:
•Bachelor of Science Degree in Plastics Engineering or Polymer Engineering
•5+ years of experience in a plastic injection molding environment
•Understanding of root cause analysis methodologies
•Demonstrate troubleshooting and problem solving solutions through the use of tools like DOE, 8-D, or Six Sigma disciplines/methodologies.
•Superior injection molding process development and troubleshooting methodologies
•Knowledge and understanding of mold prints, parts prints, inspection procedures, and SPC (Statistical Process Control)
•Strong documentation and organization skills
•Must possess ability to work with a team while directing technical resources
•Excellent communication (verbal/written) and relationship management skills
•Strong mechanical aptitude
•Aptitude for problem solving and ability to demonstrate
•Demonstrated success handling multiple priorities and working in a fast paced environment
•Proficiency in MS Office software
•Relocation to the greater New Orleans area
Desired Qualifications:
•RJG Master Molder / Scientific injection molding discipline a plus
•Lean manufacturing certification and/or formal training in the area of Lean Manufacturing
•Can train others in root cause analysis methodologies
•Proficiency in 3D CAD (preferably Solidworks and/or Pro-Engineer)
