John Passanisi, of PRD, lent Makuta PRD's sample plaque of the exact finish we needed. I took the opportunity to visit PRD to see the unique work PRD is doing to manufacture LED lenses.

I am looking for suggested companies/software that you may use for Human Resources (on-boarding, vacation and attendance tracking, evaluations etc.), as well as Accounting and Training. We've recently sat through webinars with Kronos, Pineapple and People Tracker to review what they can do for the H.R. and Accounting side.
From a training standpoint we are looking for something that can offer training for all employees covering a wide variety of topics, everything from Sexual Harassment, to Lock Out Tag Out; not only covering the initial training but notifying us when there are OSHA changes or new requirements as well as track when each employee is due for their annual training or when certifications may be expiring. New Berlin Plastics, Inc.: We would like to establish some travel per diems and allowances for meals, and we're interested in the policies or limits of other MAPP members. Do you set a daily limit for meals and if so, what is this amount? If there is no daily limit, is there a limit or guideline for each meal? Does the employee have to be traveling away from home overnight to be reimbursed for meals? Or is there an allowance for employees meals within a certain number of miles traveled from the office? We would really appreciate reviewing any travel reimbursement policies you may have.

Vital Plastics : Manufacturer Representative Compensation
E-S Plastic Products LLC: We have a 6 manufacturers reps that work with our company managing roughly half of our sales. First off, we have a reasonable rep agreement in place that protects the reps from getting fired once they work to get the business in place. 2nd, we reserve the right to renegotiate commissions if the checks start getting too big. I don't believe in automatic commission reductions - it really depends on how long it takes to begin the revenue stream with a new customer. Some accounts take 3 years to develop so its not fair to start reducing commissions after one year of paying sales commission. Remember, you have them working for you for 3 years for free (in that case) We start at 5% but if we chase the work to meet price targets the reps participate at that time (4%,3% instead of 5%) It's really about building trust, making reps feel part of your organization and also finding Reps that our wired into accounts. All reps for us are account to account - no territories. Hope this helps.

Metro Plastics Technologies: pond water as source of procees cooling
Koller Enterprises: I know that this question is a couple months old, but wanted to give our input relating to the use of pond water for process cooling. We have been using a spring fed pond for process cooling for a number of years. Water from the pond is pumped thru a heat exchanger, other side is closed loop to the plant. Works very well. We do an annual PM activity of cleaning the heat exchanger. Only problem we have is if the annual PM is missed the heat exchanger becomes less efficient and water does not get cooled properly.
